Fundación Futuro Posible

Furuto Posible is a non-profit organization that rises form the concern of a group of businessmen, to the needs of Dominican Children, seeking to provide opportunities for a decent integration to children and adolescents living with the reality of our country:

• Poverty: More than 55% of the population from ages 0 to 12 and 49% between ages 13 and 18 are poor.

• Orphans: Orphan children form one or both parents sum 6% (180,666) of all children from ages 0 to 14, of which 50,000 are in a state of neglect.

• Educación: 27% de los niños y niñas de 6 a 9 años no asiste a la escuela, al igual que el 14.9% de aquellos con edades de 6 a 17 años. El 53% de estos completa los dos ciclos de educación primaria y sólo el 10% termina la educación media.

• Health:
• Between 15 and 20% of Dominican Children grow up with low immunity.
• 22,000 of children form the ages 0 to 14 have HIV/AIDS.
• Approximately 1 in 4 girls between the ages 15 and 19 are mothers or are pregnant.
